When we talk about using different elements in our space (to activate the sector), it doesn't mean that you cannot have any other element in that sector or that you can use only one element in that area. Remember Feng Shui is all about balance and we can create that balance by having all the five elements present. When you have all the elements present it creates the energy of success. The trick is to work out which element needs to be more prominent, out of the five elements.
