The placement of the stove and kitchen holds an important place in Feng Shui. There are certain taboos related to their placement. The stove/kitchen represent the Fire element and when placed in certain sectors, the Fire element can negatively affect that corner and hence, the aspiration related to the corner gets effected as well.

One of the directions that should not have a stove or kitchen is the Northwest. Try and avoid placing the kitchen in the Northwest of the house. Another thing to keep in mind is that the placement of the stove in the kitchen should not be in the Northwest corner either.

You have to keep the big Tai chi and small Tai chi of your house in mind as well. Big Tai chi means your whole house and small Tai chi refers to individual rooms. So, when you start taking directions, make sure you work out the big Tai chi of the house as well as the small Tai chi of every room. You will find that the directions will vary a little bit for every room. The best way to find out the directions is to stand in the middle of each room, with a compass in your hand, held at waist level, and then work out the direction for that room. Once you have worked out the directions for every room you will then be able to see where each direction sits in individual rooms. With this information you can check your kitchen and check the direction of the stove as well.

If you have already bought a house and it has a stove in the Northwest, then you can diminish it’s negative impact by using black/blue in the decor or by placing a bowl of water in the Northwest. You can also try and cover the stove when it is not in use.

You can also move the stove away from the Northwest corner, if possible, to either the Northeast or the Southwest part of the kitchen. If it is not possible to place it in the said directions, then just try and move it away from the Northwest part of the kitchen.

Having a stove or the kitchen in the Northwest can create bad luck for the Patriarch/head of the family. It can also lead to loss of wealth.

This taboo is taken very seriously by all Feng Shui practitioners.

You can check the position of the stove or the kitchen in your house by using a good compass. If you find your stove/kitchen is in the Northwest then you can follow the tips mentioned above and minimise it’s negative effects.

There are a few different layers in Feng Shui. Some of these layers are static or fixed while there are others which change with time and are called Time dimension Feng Shui. The time dimension Feng Shui is also known as the Flying Star Feng Shui.

Even though these Flying Stars are not visible, they can create havoc in one’s life. Time dimension Feng Shui affects the energy of every home, depending on the direction of the main door or other rooms as well. The Flying Stars range from number 1 to 9 and each star has certain characteristics attached to it, which can be positive or negative. Now depending on the kind of star you have at your front door, you will experience that kind of luck. If you have wondered how all of a sudden things start going wrong in your life, you might want to look at the flying stars of your house as well as the Flying stars for the year. An experienced Feng Shui expert will be able to tell you what is going on in your life just by looking at a house plan and the Time dimension for the year.

Let’s talk about one such star which can create a lot of negative energy when it is at the front door or in the bedroom of a house. Five Yellows is one of the flying stars with negative energy associated to it and when this star goes to any magnetic direction, it brings with it negative consequences.

The basic essence of this star is Earth element. This Earth element is considered afflicted and when this star is at the front door or in the bedroom, its negative effect will be felt more.

In 2017, the Five Yellows was in the South direction. So all the houses which have their main door in the South, or people with their bedrooms in the South, would have felt the negative impact of this star.

Depending on the direction where the Five Yellows is each year, its potency can vary. For example, when it was in the South in 2017, it was very strong as South is the direction of Fire element, and fire produces earth in the cycle of elements and the fire was strengthening the negative effect of the Five yellows star.

This year, the Five yellows is in the North direction. If you have your main door or your bedroom in the North sector, then you need to take extra care.

The remedy for overcoming this star is to place lots of Metal in the North. This will weaken the energy of the star and it will help you stay safe as well.

Each year these stars move and change their direction. Being aware of their direction and making sure that you follow the taboos related to the negative stars and enhance the good stars, will help you live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Remember you should have all your remedies in place by 4 of February 2018.
