Feng Shui Tip: Refreshing energy around you

We talk about decluttering all the time in Feng Shui. With life being so busy nowadays it can get hard to find the time to declutter, but still, try and make it a priority. Get your family involved and make it a regular feature in your household. You can do this at your work place as well. Move the furniture around the home and office, clean the dust and cobwebs that have formed over time. By doing this regularly, you invigorate the space with fresh energy, which enhances the general wellbeing and productivity of all the inhabitants. Regular weekly or daily cleaning will help maintain the positive energy of your space. You can try and aim for a big yearly clean out or do it on a regular basis too. See what works for you. 

You can also use sea salt or rock salt to cleanse the space even more effectively. Just sprinkle some sea salt around the room and leave it for a day and then vacuum as usual. This ritual is considered very effective in getting rid of negative energy from the space. A word of caution though, it takes a while to get all the sea salt out. I would suggest going for the sea salt with bigger grain instead of the fine one, as it is easier to spot the grains and hence, easier to clean it up.

The best direction for placing a television or music system, according to Feng Shui, is the West or Northwest of a room. By placing them in one of these directions we create precious Yang energy, which enhances creativity, luck of children, the prestige of the Patriarch/man of the house and brings blessings from heaven. You can energise these corners with metal wind chimes or bells. 

While applying Feng Shui tips you do need to be mindful of the yearly taboos. This year we have the Grand Duke of Jupiter in the West and the Quarrelsome Star as well, and I would suggest keeping this area quiet. So for this year I would suggest moving the Television set to a different direction/room or using it sparingly. Do not hang metal wind chimes in the West this year. 

Feng Shui requires us to be aware of our surroundings continually. You should keep rooms energised by cleaning and opening up windows regularly. When you move stuff around and clean the rooms, you refresh the stagnant energy of that room. 

We need to keep the Yearly time changes in mind too and make sure that we apply the right cures and place them in the right direction, to ensure that our life is free from hassles and we enjoy the improvement that Feng Shui creates in our lives. You might find that after you have applied the yearly cures in your home, you don’t feel the need to go any further. But if problems start rearing their heads, then I would suggest applying the monthly cures as well. For a beginner it might seem a little tedious, but for people who have been applying Feng Shui cures regularly, it is quite easy. Once you start understanding the principles of Feng Shui, you will be able to apply the information provided here with ease.

Feng Shui Tip: How to calculate your Kua number

I am sharing an older post for those who don’t know how to calculate their Kua number. You can find out your Kua number by following the steps in this post. 
In one of my earlier posts I talked about four auspicious directions and four inauspicious directions based on your Kua number. Today I will show you how to calculate your Kua number to find out your most favourable compass directions. 

This formula uses the Chinese year of birth to work out your Kua number. If you were born before February 4th then you need to deduct one year from your year of birth to get the equivalent Chinese year. If you were born after February 4th, then you do not need to make any changes to your year of birth. For example, if your birthday falls on the 10 of January 1981, then you will use 1980 as your year of birth.
For Males:
Take the last two digits of your year of birth and add them together. Keep adding the till you get a single number. Deduct this number from 10 if you were born before 2000, and from 9 if you were born after 2000. This will give you your Kua number. 

For example, if you are a male born in 1972. We add the last two numbers together- 7+2= 9. Then we deduct it from 10. 10-9= 1. So your Kua number is 1.
For Females: 
Take the last two digits of your year of birth and add them together. Keep adding them till you get a single number. Add 5 to this number if you were born before 2000, add 6 if you were born after 2000. Keep adding till you get a single digit. This will give you your Kua number.

For example, if you are a female born in 2002. We add the last two numbers together- 0+2= 2. Then we add it to 6. 2+6= 8. So your Kua number is 8.

Do you know you can choose your car colour using Feng Shui? The general rule is to use the Kua number to work out the personal element that is good for you and then find its representative colour. If you know your Kua number then all you have to do is look up your good colour and next time you are planning to buy a car, you can use this guide to get a colour that is good for you. Here is a list of all the Ka numbers and their relevant colours.

Peach blossom has been considered a powerful symbol of lasting love by the Chinese. We can activate our Peach blossom luck to improve marriage and love luck. If you have been struggling to find love or sustain a relationship, then you can activate your Peach blossom luck. Peach blossom luck is activated by using the Chinese Astrological animal signs.

The energy connected to this image will get attached to your energy and will create conditions for someone special to materialise in your life. 

You should place the Peach blossom animal in your personal animal direction. So, if your animal sign is Boar, then you can place a symbol/image of Rat in the North-west direction (North-west is the direction of the Boar). You can shine a bright light on the Peach blossom sign to activate it even more.
