Swans in Feng Shui

Swans are symbols of love, grace, purity, beauty, balance and elegance. They are known to mate for life and are used as a symbol of love and devotion in Feng Shui. A pair of swans can be displayed in the bedroom or in the family/living room, in the Southwest direction, to enhance marital fidelity and improve relationships between couples. Do make sure that you display them in pairs only and not singly or in threes, as that can lead to problems in a relationship.

Bird Baths in Feng Shui

Bird baths are considered as yang water feature in Feng Shui. Every time a bird has a drink or a dip in the bird bath, it is activating the water feature. Make sure your bird bath is clean and full of water, to attract more birds. You can place a bird bath in the North, East and Southeast part of your house. When placed in the North it brings career success, in the East it brings good health and when placed in the Southeast, it brings wealth luck. If you place other forms of water features then make sure that the water flow is facing inwards, thus bringing money in.

Infidelity and Marriage problems

Feng shui can play an important role in improving relationship between couples. When we apply Feng shui we create an environment of harmony which nurtures love and affection in a family. Amethyst Geodes are used as a Taoist cure to prevent infidelity and break up in marriages. If you or someone you know, is going through the problem of infidelity, then this cure can help improve your relationship with your husband or partner and remove the third party from your life.

Tie an Amethyst geode with a red string to the leg of the bed on your side, towards the feet. Ideally women should sleep on the right hand side of the bed and men should sleep on the left hand side. This Taoist ritual not only helps mend broken relationship between couples, it gets rid of the third party and brings good luck to the couple as well.
Make sure to buy an Amethyst Geode which you really like. It is best to cleanse the geode to get rid of the energy of the other people who have handled it. To cleanse the geode place it in salt water, you can use sea salt or rock salt, and leave it for seven days and seven nights. Then wash the geode under running water and now it will be ready to be used.

The size of the Amethyst geode matters too. It should not be too small otherwise it will not be effective. Neither should it be too big or it will be too overwhelming. Choose a medium sized geode and tie it with a red string.

Stagnant Energy or Dead Energy

Stagnant or Dead energy occurs when we have corners and rooms which are not used regularly and these corners/rooms tend to collect stuff that is not put away. The walk in wardrobes, guest rooms being used as store rooms, are a good example of a space that can get really cluttered and accumulate dead energy.  We have talked about the importance of clearing clutter and re-energising our space on a regular basis. When the energy becomes stagnant or dead, it tends to create obstacles in our lives. Make sure to keep the energy moving by opening up windows and doors, and airing the rooms which are not used on a regular basis. Get rid of things you don’t use or need anymore. Once you have cleared the extra stuff you will feel the change in the energy straight away and by doing so you are not only clearing the clutter but removing obstacles from your life too. A win-win situation.

Paht Chee or Birth Chart Reading

I had the good fortune of learning ‘Paht Chee’ course from Lillian Too recently. Paht Chee reading, also known as the Eight Characters Chart, helps unravel the secrets of your Birth Chart. It uses the time as well as the date of birth to calculate the Paht Chee reading of one’s destiny. Once you understand the charts you can read destiny patterns and know what your future holds. I have attached a sample birth chart for you to see. You can download your birth chart by going to http://www.wofs.com.

I have always been interested in Feng Shui and have been dabbling in it for a long time now. It wasn’t until I did my Master Practitioners Course in Feng Shui in 2014, that I started reading more about Paht Chee. The more I read, the more I wanted to learn. After completing the Master Consultants Course in Feng Shui last year (2015), I was ready to add another feather in my cap.

I love Feng Shui and Paht Chee reading because not only does it provide a window into your future by preparing you and teaching you ways to fix or remedy negative periods, it also helps enhance the positive periods in your life. The Chinese philosophy stresses that prevention is better than cure, so why not prevent bad things from happening? Paht Chee helps to manually improve and and magnify the good, while subduing and lessening the bad. It helps suppress misfortunes and strengthens good fortune. We can learn about various aspects of our life through Paht Chee reading like, wealth and abundance luck, relationship luck, intelligence luck, power and influence luck, and resource luck available in one’s life.

If you have been following my posts on my Facebook page, Positive Vibes Feng Shui, http://www.bloomingmushroom.com you will remember that I talked about three kinds of luck in Feng Shui,

Heaven Luck, also known as Destiny (1/3) – Paht Chee

Earth Luck (1/3) – Feng Shui

Mankind Luck (1/3) – Personal attitude of a person.

Now let’s do some Maths….

1). If you believe in yourself and work hard to change your circumstances, you change 1/3rd of your luck,

2). You apply Feng Shui in your house, you change the Earth luck, which is another 1/3rd of your luck,

3). Now you apply Paht Chee to this equation, Destiny luck, 1/3rd of your luck.

You have to love the odds in this equation. I know I do. I love the idea of having the ability to change my destiny and that of others. I am so looking forward to applying my newly acquired knowledge of Paht Chee Reading with my Feng Shui knowledge.

Until next time.

Cheers

Shelly

Landscape Feng Shui: Symbolism of the celestial animals

Landscape Feng Shui begins with, and is all about the location. If your natural environment is auspicious , according to the basic Feng shui principles, then that alone can bring you a good life. You will succeed in all your endeavours even if your home has some negative Feng shui features inside. Landscape Feng shui talks about the importance of the four celestial animals (i.e. black turtle, green dragon, white tiger and red phoenix) in our surroundings. These animals refer to the undulating land forms which are considered lucky and should ideally be present when you are looking for a site to build your house.

The ideal configuration of these four celestial animals forms an armchair figure. The black turtle should be at the back of the house and symbolically provides support, the green dragon should be on the left side of the front door (inside looking out) and it should be higher than the right side, the white tiger should be on the right side (inside looking out) and should be lower than the left side, and the red phoenix should be in the form a small hillock or footstool, in the front of the house.

So how do we apply this cardinal principle in the modern day landscape? It is hard to tick all the boxes when you are looking for a property. Does that mean you cannot apply landscape Feng shui? Does it mean that you will have to miss out on the benefits that this lucky configuration brings with it? The answer is ‘No’. It is quite simple to introduce this armchair configuration on your land. You can introduce these land forms by artificially creating them (if you have the finances to do it) or by planting a tall tree(s) on the left hand side of your house and making sure that you have a smaller shrub or hedge on the right hand side of the house. To introduce the support or the turtle at the back of the house, you can build a high wall or plant a row of tall trees. The red Phoenix at the front can be introduced by having a small mound of soil. Once you have applied the four celestial animals in your house should enjoy good Feng shui.

The next question that comes to mind is, what if you live in an apartment in a busy suburb? It is not easy to find the armchair formation in cities and towns. In such a scenario, you can either use the whole apartment to determine the good landscape criteria. When you are choosing an apartment make sure that if there is a taller building, it is behind the whole apartment block. The land on the left hand side is slightly higher than the right hand side. Or you can activate these celestial animals inside your apartment as well. You can hang a painting of a mountain or a turtle at the back of your apartment. You can keep a real turtle if you like or a figure made of ceramic or metal will work equally well. The turtle symbolises support and continuous protection to the family and is one of the best Feng shui features. Similarly, you can activate the green dragon by placing a painting or picture of a dragon on the left side of the house. You can use a ceramic figure as well. Make sure you do not place the dragon figure inside your bedroom. If the left side of the apartment has a bedroom, then go to another room and activate the green dragon there by using small tai chi. If there is space outside your front door then you can place the dragon figure outside, to the left of the main door. The White tiger can be activated in the same manner. Make sure that the figure or picture that you chose is not a fierce looking tiger. The red Phoenix has to be placed in the front part of the apartment. You can activate it by placing an image of any bird near your front door if you can not find a phoenix.

Feng Shui Tip: Water under the staircase

Do you know water under the staircase can create misfortune luck for the children living in the house. Water could be in the form of a fish tank, a toilet or a mini bar. This situation causes the children to become disobedient and rebellious. Water under the staircase is believed to bring bad luck to the sons of the family in particular. Their personal development will suffer and they will suffer from setbacks and obstacles in their life.

If you have a water feature under the staircase then remove it immediately. If you have a toilet under the staircase, avoid using it. If it is not possible then make sure you keep the toilet door closed at all times. You can take it a step further and put a curtain over the toilet door or you can put a full length mirror on the door, thus, symbolically making the toilet disappear.

My Feng Shui Journey

Hi there,

I know it has been a while since I posted anything on my blog but life has been really busy. I have been busy learning Feng Shui and applying it in my house and helping others with tips and remedies for their problems. I have started my own Feng Shui Consultation business and am loving every minute of it. Today I would like to share my journey of Feng Shui with all of you.

Let me start from the beginning. I have been reading Feng Shui for over 15 years now. It all started in my home town, Chandigarh, India. My mum was the one who introduced me to Feng Shui. She came across some Feng Shui tips in the local paper and showed it to me. We found the tips very interesting. We used to look forward to the morning newspaper so that we could learn more tips everyday.  I decided to go and look for Feng Shui books. I was convinced that I would not be able to find any books as I had never heard of Feng Shui. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Feng Shui books in one of our favourite book store. Most of the books that were available on Feng Shui were written by Lillian Too. This was the start of my relationship with Lillian Too. I loved learning Feng Shui from Lillian’s books.  It was an easy read and Lillian had a knack of engaging her reader and making the otherwise complex Chinese philosophy easy to understand. I felt i knew Lillian personally through her books. I must admit that after the first book I was hooked. I was on a quest to acquire all of Lillian’s books, which I am proud to say I did.

In the meantime, life kept moving. I got married, had a baby girl, moved to Australia and had my second child. In the midst of all this Feng Shui took a back seat. But once you know Feng Shui, it never leaves you. I was always mindful of the basic principles of Feng Shui and had incorporated it in my décor and day to day life.

I had always wanted to learn Feng Shui from Lillian Too. I had never really shared my thoughts with anyone but deep down in my heart I had this burning desire to meet Lillian. I was in awe of Lillian’s vast knowledge on Feng Shui. Last year I got lucky. I shared my desire to go and study from Lillian with my husband. He agreed on the condition that I go with someone. Well that was the easy part. I called up my sister and told her that ‘We’ were going to Kuala Lumpur to do a Feng Shui course. Thankfully she agreed and we attended Lillian Too’s Master Practitioners Course in Feng Shui (2014).  This year I didn’t have to ask my sister to join me as she was all set to go back and learn more and ‘We’ have just completed the Master Consultants Course in Feng Shui (2015).

I feel my journey in Feng Shui has just begun. I have enjoyed dabbling in Feng Shui for a long time but now I understand it much more and have a deeper understanding of the hidden meanings and nuances. Feng Shui adds a whole new dimension to one’s life. There are a lot of people who don’t believe in Feng Shui. I respect their thoughts. It can be very hard to explain how Feng Shui works. There is nothing tangible about Feng Shui but it can have amazing results. The best part is that you don’t even have to believe in Feng Shui for it to work. It is a fascinating art and science. It can be very technical at times but at the same time it can be very simple and easy to apply. Feng Shui has layers upon layers but the best thing about Feng Shui is that it is very versatile. You can adapt it to suit your life style and your thinking.

I look forward to applying all the newly acquired knowledge in my home and that of my friends and clients, and to further improve my knowledge of Feng Shui.

Till next time.

Cheers

Shelly
