Is Feng Shui still relevant in this day and age?

When you read about Feng Shui and go into its history, the first thing you notice is that Feng Shui is an ancient philosophy which has been around for about 5000 years. Now that seems pretty impressive but after the initially awe another question pops in to one’s mind. If it is such an old science/art, is it possible to apply it to this new world that we live in? There have been so many changes in the society from the time Feng Shui was first practised. The landscape of the cities and towns have changed drastically. Our world is totally digitised and fast paced now. There are so many new challenges that we face as a humanity which never even existed a few hundred years ago, let alone five thousand years ago?

The challenges that humans face now have complicated their lives and it seems to be getting worse with the passage of time. So going back to my question… Is Feng Shui relevant in this day and age? Can we use Feng Shui effectively to improve our lives in the present time? The answer to it is “YES…!!!”. I would say it is even more relevant in this day and age. With all the work stress and personal life pressures, Feng Shui can bring a semblance of peace and harmony, by improving our mental health and physical well being. Feng shui helps improve all aspects of our lives, be it relationships (with your family, spouse, friends), career prospects, personal development, finances, recognition, etc. When one applies Feng Shui, life starts getting better. With each passing year you notice your assets growing, your happiness level improving and your life in general blossoms. There is a general calmness to things and everything moves in the right direction.

“Feng Shui is a versatile philosophy which transcends time.” It is an approach to life that values balance and living in harmony with the environment. I think we need to apply this philosophy in our lives even more than ever now to enjoy contentment and happiness in our day to day life.

If you or some one you know is struggling with difficult life situations, then maybe it is time to look at the possibilities Feng Shui has to offer. If you would like to learn more about how Feng Shui works and how it can help you, then all you need to do is get in touch with me. Send me an email on: shellysingh168@gmail.com for more information.

I look forward to helping you live a happy and fulfilling life.

See you soon.

Dream away….

If you want to something in your life then you need to start dreaming about it. When you dream about something you create a thought. Everything in this world has its own energy and so do thoughts. Thoughts are very powerful. These thoughts (and it’s energy) get activated every time you dream or think about something. Once they are activated, the whole universe aligns itself to deliver it to you. This is the start of your dream life. So why not start dreaming now and create magic in your life.

Happy dreaming.

Cheers.

Mountain picture

Feng Shui Tip: Mountains in Feng Shui

To ensure success in every aspect of your life avoid having a picture of a mountain on the wall in front of you, either at work or at home. When you hang a picture of a mountain in front it creates blockage of energy, which means that you will face problems or small aggravations in your day to day life. You can have a painting of flowers, a lake or open fields in front of you. Use the mountain picture to create support in all areas of your life by placing it behind you.

This applies to real mountains or hills as well. When you are looking to buy a house, try and have the mountain behind rather than in front and you will have continued support in your life. What if you live in the city? It will obviously be hard to find a mountain there, right? In such a case you can look for a taller building behind your house or you can create your own mountain by building a high wall or by planting a line of tall trees.

Cheers.

Who is responsible for all your problems?

Do you know that ‘You’ are the only person who is responsible for the way your life is going right now. I know it is very hard to accept this fact, as most people usually blame either their destiny, their circumstances and it’s snowball effect, or another person, for what they are going through life.

‘You’ are the architect of your own life. You not only build your dream life, you also create your own worst nightmare. We do not realise how powerful our thoughts and words can be. Every time we speak, we create an energy blueprint for ourselves. This energy blueprint then helps materialise that kind of luck, whether good or bad. If you think and say positive things, then you will get positive outcomes in life, and likewise, if you think or say negative things, you will get negative outcomes. So what do you need to do to improve your life? It is very simple. You just have to start thinking and speaking in a positive way. I would like you to pay attention to the self talk that goes on in your mind as well. Is it positive and uplifting talk, or is it pulling you down with self doubt?

Let’s do an exercise together. I would like you to watch your words/thoughts for one day. Just one day. That should be pretty easy, right? What kind of words come out every time you speak? Are they positive or do they lean towards negativity? Let’s take an example. Your child is playing with a ball inside the house. What would your first reaction be? “Stop. Don’t play inside or you will break something.” Is that how you would react too? Now tell me what you think of this statement. Is it a positive statement? As you can see, we tend to use negative words without realising it. If you start checking your words and thoughts and make an effort to use positive language most of the time, then you will be able to create a positive life for yourself.

I want you to consciously make an effort to focus only on the positives in your life. Think about all the beautiful things you have in your life. It could be anything from your beautiful family, the gift of your life, your lovely home, your parents, children, friends, your job, your health etc. You know, focusing on the positives might sound easy but it is actually quite hard to practice. The moment  life throws a curveball at you, you revert to thinking about the worst that could happen. When you do that, you bring your focus back to the negatives. I know it is hard to look at the positives when you are in the thick of things, but it is all about training your mind. We do start thinking of the worst case scenario when things start going wrong and a lot of people say that they are being practical and realistic. I agree, but I want you to push your practicality out the window, and if need be, become a bit delusional and focus only on the positive. You will find that by focusing on the positives, you get positive outcomes all the time. You do need to remember that you will have to break your age old habits and build new ones. The more you practice this technique in your day to day life, the stronger and more effective it will become. All you have to do is break your old habit, and you will be on the road to success.

Here’s to a positive change in your life.
    Cheers.

    Wealth Luck in Feng Shui

Feng Shui can be used very effectively to activate the wealth or prosperity luck. Southeast is the universal wealth direction of every house or building. This sector can be energised by using wood element, which enhances the wealth energy of the home. You can place healthy green plants in the Southeast of your home. This introduces growth energy for the residents of the house, hence bringing more opportunities and increased income as well. You can also place an aquarium (with fish) in the Southeast corner of your home or room. Add a pump to the aquarium so that there is bubbling water, which signifies yang energy. If you are using an aquarium just make sure it is placed on the left hand side of the door, either inside or outside. You can work this out by standing at the door, as if you were about to leave the house and the see whether your water feature is on the left side of the door or it is on the right. We always keep the Feng Shui taboos in mind when applying the activators.

Wishing all of you lots of prosperity.

    Cheers.

    Change is good

Feng Shui Tip: Change things around

When we apply Feng Shui in our space, we have the flexibility to use any room in the house, which we feel will work well for us.  You can use your own judgement when activating the corners or rooms, or you could start with one room and see how that is affecting your life and change it if you are not satisfied with the results. Feng Shui is all about flexibility. You should use your own style and taste to create a harmonious space for yourself and your family. There will be times when you will not be able to tap into the big tai chi of a certain room, because of the presence of a doorway or a window, then you can look at activating that corner or direction in another room, which is called using the small tai chi. Listen to your inner voice when applying Feng Shui, this will help create a more harmonious environment and ensure that you enjoy good Feng Shui in your home.

We all grow over time and our tastes change as well. So what do you do with the decor that you used to love but don’t like any more? Change it. Get rid of things that you don’t like anymore. It is very important to be comfortable with the objects you have in your space. If you are not happy with a painting, take it off and replace it with something you love. This will create a beautiful space for you, and you will find that you and your family will thrive even more.

We do recommend moving things around on a regular basis anyway. This keeps the energy of the rooms fresh and vibrant. Changing the setting on a regular basis (or once every year) lifts the energy of the space and your life never stagnates. Pay attention to every room and every corner. If you have a room (or a corner) which has been neglected over the years, pay special attention to it. Open up the windows, let the sunlight in, turn the fan on, play some music there. You need to make sure that the energy of the room, and hence that sector, is not getting too quiet or Yin. By cleaning it regularly, and using it, if possible, you create the precious Yang energy and it helps activate the aspiration related to that sector. So, lets see how this works. Let’s say your spare room is in the Southwest sector of your house, and we know that Southwest sector is related to the mother of the house and it is the relationship corner as well. What happens when we let that room collect clutter or get too Yin… Yes, you guessed it right, it will not only affect the mother negatively, it will also affect the relationships of each individual among themselves as well as with the outside world.

So take a look around your home and see if you have any areas that have been neglected. Then declutter, if required, or change the energy by opening up the windows and moving the furniture around. If you do not have the option of changing the setting of the furniture, then just move it while vacuuming and then you can place it back.

    Happy moving and shaking.

    Cheers.

    Is Feng Shui a Fad?

Do you think of Feng Shui as a ‘Fad’? So what is a Fad? A ‘Fad’ is a temporary notion or thought followed enthusiastically by a group of people. I would say, ‘No, it isn’t’. Feng Shui has been around for over 5000 years now. Though it’s origins started in China, it spread to the rest of the world and has managed to survive the trials and tribulations of time. It always amazes me how the principles and calculations done all those years ago still work. It is an amazing feat no doubt. I know you will say that there are so many other inventions that were made thousands of years ago, which are still being used today and continue to be the basis for new inventions. I agree wholeheartedly, but it still is mind blowing, isn’t it?

So when something seems to survive the test of time, again and again, surely that system works. Feng Shui is still being used very effectively and it still delivers positive results, when applied properly. I can’t think of any other system which helps improve our lives on so many levels, as Feng Shui does.

So, for all those people who are still sceptical about the efficacy and use of Feng Shui, I would say, ‘Keep an open mind’. There is so much out there that we do not understand but that doesn’t mean it is all hocus-pocus. It is only when we see results that we start believing in it. But my question to you is, “If you don’t try something out, how will you know it works?”. Basic Feng Shui is really easy to apply and it brings amazing results too. So if you want to improve your life then give it a go. You can start by using the basic tips first and as you start seeing results you can move on to the more complex principles. The results that you see might feel like a coincidence, but trust me, it isn’t. It is Feng Shui at work.

Let me know if you need more information on how to start.

    Happy experimenting.

    Work on yourself

    Feng Shui Tip: Self care

All of us have good days as well as bad days. The important thing to remember is that our attitude (during the bad days) makes a huge difference to how we deal with it. If you give up and start complaining, you will end up feeling miserable. On the other hand, if you accept that everyone goes through ups and downs, and go with the flow, with a positive attitude, you will get over the bad patch quicker and you will bounce back feeling better.

If you think about it, these low days give us the opportunity to re-group our thinking as we are not running around trying to do the daily chores, we get a chance to put some thought into our life and what we want from it and how we could make it happen. Don’t beat yourself up for resting and not doing anything productive. Our body gives us signs when it is getting run down. Be aware of the signs, listen to your body and slow down. Make time to take care of yourself and for things that make you happy.  Exercise regularly, meditate, do gardening, paint, sing, dance, play the piano, go for a game of golf, play with your children or catch up with friends for a good heart to heart talk. A change in the routine always helps. Make the change a happy one and do it often.

It is very important to maintain balance in life. When you feel well and happy, you start enjoying the mundane things in life as well. Try and use the good days to keep improving yourself. These days will act as a springboard to catapult you to a higher level of awareness and productivity in life.

    Take care.

Is Feng Shui an art or a science?

Feng Shui Tip: Feng Shui- An art or science?

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice of living in harmony with the energies of the earth. It uses a set of techniques and formulas, which when applied properly to one’s space, creates good luck for those living in that space. Feng Shui can be used to enhance one’s fortune, material wealth, good health, loving relationships etc. Every aspect of one’s life starts improving like magic.

So does that mean that Feng Shui is magical? Well, I think you all know the answer to that, no it is not. But it surely works like magic. Feng Shui is actually a combination of ‘Science’ and ‘Art’. We call it a science because it uses different formulas for calculations, and when we apply these formulas on a house, it brings positive results, time and time again. We have to make sure that we get the accurate readings of directions and measurements, that is why we use a reliable compass. Once we have worked out the correct directions and other dimensions, we almost always get good results, which equates to improved luck for the residents of the house. And what happens if one gets the directions wrong, well that means that they will not feel any improvement.

Feng Shui is also an art because it involves a visual assessment of our surroundings, and needs a keen sense of judgement on the part of the practitioner, when applying the various principles. One can be very creative while applying the various principles of Feng Shui. For e.g. If you need to enhance a sector with say an Earth element, you can use your personal style and display a beautiful vase made of ceramic or crystal in that corner. You can use your imagination and play around with different elements. The choices are endless. Once you have applied the correct formulas and the right elements, you should be able to see the results quickly.

I hope this post gives you a better understanding of the way Feng Shui works. I am very passionate about it and have had amazing results in my life, as well as in the lives of my client’s too.

If you are ready to experience this amazing technique then get in touch with me and watch your beautiful life improve, everyday of your life.

    Have a lovely day.

    Cheers.
