Yin and Yang energy in Feng Shui

Feng Shui Tip: The concept of Yin and Yang in Feng Shui
All our space is made up of energy. This energy is either Yin or Yang. Yin and Yang are opposing forces yet they complement each other. Even though they are different yet they are dependent on each other. The Chinese believe that the Yin and Yang forces contain the seeds of each other.
Feng shui recommends the presence of more Yang energy in the homes. While applying this principle we need to remember that our space should not be all yang. The presence of Yin is very important. Likewise, your space should not be too Yin, make sure to add the precious Yang energy in your homes. If you are a working couple and are out all day, your home can become too Yin/quiet. To counter this, you can keep a pet or leave some music playing while you are away.
Here are some examples of Yin and Yang energies:
Yin energy: Passive, dark, cold, quiet, and feminine in nature.
Yang energy: Bright, heat, sound, and masculine in nature.

It is the balance of these forces which makes your space auspicious and brings about happiness and prosperity. This balance can be translated to our day to day life too. If you are too active all the time, you will feel exhausted. Likewise, if you are sitting around all the time, you will not achieve much success in life. The key here is to bring that balance in your day to day life to improve the quality of life. The principle of Yin and Yang applies to our Birth Charts too. The number of Yin pillars and Yang pillars constitute our personality. Depending on the number of Yin or Yang pillars, an individual might need more quiet time or might need to be more socially involved. Listen to your needs and make the judgement.

Grand Duke Jupiter in Flying Star Feng Shui

Feng Shui Tip: Grand Duke Jupiter’s position in 2017

In Flying Star Feng Shui, the Grand Duke Jupiter, also known as the Tai Sui, is regarded as the God of the year. The location of the Grand Duke changes every year. It is important to observe certain guidelines so you are not harmed by the Tai Sui and you can get his support and assistance. Make sure to check the location of the Grand Duke Jupiter each year and do not face that direction that year. If the Grand Duke happens to be in your Success direction, then face any of the other three good directions instead. The yearly afflictions have an immediate impact on everyone and should be taken seriously.

This year is the Year of the Fire Rooster and the Grand Duke Jupiter is in the West.

  • Make sure that you do not face West this year when you are working, attending important meetings, applying for a job etc.
  • It is fine to sit with your back to the Grand Duke’s location, i.e. West this year.
  • People born in the year of Rabbit need to keep a low profile this year as they have a direct clash with the grand Duke of Jupiter. They should carry a Pi Yao with them this year.
  • People born in the year of Rooster, Rat, Rabbit and Horse should carry the Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) Amulet to protect them.
  • Keep this sector of the house and office quiet.
  • Do not dig or do any renovations in this sector this year.
  • Offending the Tai Sui can bring severe bad luck, loss and illness to the residents of the house.
  • The good thing is that the Tai Sui occupies only 15 degrees of the direction. This year it is in the West and the Tai Sui occupies 262.5 degrees to 277.5 degrees on the compass.
  • To cure the affliction of Tai Sui you can place an image of a Pi Yao inside the home or office in the direction of the Tai Sui. This is a traditional Chinese cure and is quite easy to find.
  • If you do not wish to apply the traditional Chinese cures, then avoid facing those 15 degrees totally and keep that area as quiet as possible.

Annual Feng Shui Afflictions 2017

It is really important to update the Feng Shui for your house or office at the start of each year. This Year the Chinese New Year starts on the 28th of January 2017. At the start of every year you must take into account the Yearly afflictions. These afflictions can cause a great deal of misfortune, loss and illness. The severity of these afflictions depend on the type of affliction and the sector/direction that it occupies. Their severity also depends on the animal sign luck of every person for that year. It is very easy to overcome the yearly afflictions and can help avoid a lot of misfortune that they bring with them.

There are three dangerous annual afflictions to take note of every year.

  • The Grand Duke Jupiter also known as Tai Sui, is in the West this year.
  • The Three Killings also known as Sarm Sart, is in the East this year.
  • The Five Yellow also known as Wu Wang, is in the South this year.

It is important to take note of the cures to remedy the yearly afflictions. The best cure, ideally, is to avoid the sectors where these afflictions occur, but if that is not possible then make sure to apply the cures to stay protected for the year. These afflictions have more effect when they are at your front door or in your bedroom. If possible you should avoid using the front door if it is afflicted, because every time you open and close the door, you activate the affliction. If you cannot use another door then make sure you put all the necessary cures in place to reduce the effect of the affliction for that year. It is easy to apply these cures and doing so can protect you from a lot of problems. Better safe than sorry ๐Ÿ’•

Broken relationships and Feng Shui

Feng Shui Tip: Relationship problems and Feng shui
Broken relationships and marriages are usually caused by bad Feng shui of a home. Bad relations and quarrels are indicators of disharmony in the environment, especially in the bedroom. These occur due to the effect of the space we live in and the intangible energy of the bad flying star numbers. Even if you do not know much about Feng shui and just follow the suggestions given here, you will be able to improve your relationship with your spouse, your family, and friends. There are certain taboos one needs to follow to avoid bad relationships.

  • Mirrors in the bedroom are considered to lead to a third party in the relationship. A mirror facing the bed directly is considered the most dangerous and should be removed. If you cannot remove the mirror then make sure you cover it up with a curtain or a screen at night time.
  • Do not have water in the bedroom as it is considered a major taboo in Feng shui. If you have an aquarium or even a painting of water, especially above the bed head, it will cause lots of problems for the couple. It is advisable to move them to another room straight away.
  • Be aware of clutter in the bedroom. Space Feng shui has a direct effect on relationships. Do ensure that your bedroom is free from clutter, around the room and under the bed as well.
  • Protect the bed from being hit by any sharp corners or shelves, as it will affect the couple negatively, over time. Cover up sharp corners with curtains or you could hang a crystal at the top of the corner.
  • Space clearing regularly with a singing bowl or a bell will help get rid of any negative energy that is lingering in the space and will help improve relationships.

When relationships go sour there is usually a lot of anger, frustration and unhappiness. If you are in a situation where your relationship has already broken, then you should throughly cleanse your home to remove all the lingering negative energy. A thorough space cleansing will help get rid of the negative energy and will bring positive energy to the space and hence to your life. Take extra care to change the energy of the bedroom. You can paint the room again, change the sheets and curtains to get rid of the lingering negative energy. Creating new energy will help create a new future for you.

Feng Shui Tip: Wind chimes for career luck

Using Wind chimes for career luck

Wind chimes are used in a variety of ways in Feng shui. They are used as ‘Enhancers’ to activate the good sectors, and as ‘Cures’ to subdue negative sectors as well as negative flying stars, especially the illness stars.

If you are looking at improving or enhancing your career luck then place an all metal wind chime in the North corner of your house. It will help advance your career by attracting auspicious energy/chi to the career corner. Make sure that the wind chimes you chose are made of all metal and have hollow rods, which allows the energy to be channelled properly, and transforms the negative energy to positive energy. If you find it hard to find an all metal wind chime then you can opt for one which has all metal rods and a bit of wood in the middle.

The number of rods are of significance too. The best numbers to have are one, six or eight. Hang the wind chimes in an area which catches the breeze and makes them tinkle.
