Southwest is the love and relationship direction in Feng Shui.

The elements associated with Southwest are Earth and Fire.

Some examples of Earth element are ceramic, crystals, glass, stones etc.

Examples of Fire element include candles, lamps, chandeliers etc.

The good colours for Southwest direction are Reds, Pinks, Yellows and Browns.

When you activate/energise the Southwest corner of your living room or family room by placing something made of Earth element or by using the good colours, your love life and your relationship with your spouse, family and friends starts improving.

Even though Feng Shui is a Chinese Philosophy you don’t have to choose the Chinese remedies if you are not comfortable with it. You can use items from your own culture which are representative of love. You can also just use the elements and colours related to each direction and activate those corners to get amazing results.

If you are looking at improving your relationship with your spouse/partner, then place a red cushion in the Southwest, or you can place a red or yellow ceramic lamp there. You can also place a couple of love birds, ideally made of crystal or ceramic.
